Hong Kong, China Mixed | 2 | 2 | 2 | 2 | 2 | 10 | Thanks so much for the game and the pre-spirit circle (:
We appreciated the communication between our teams and thanks for adjusting during the game. All the best to you at WUC! |
France Mixed | 2 | 2 | 1 | 2 | 2 | 9 | |
Australia Mixed | 1 | 3 | 3 | 2 | 2 | 11 | We acknowledged before the game that there would probably be a higher number of calls because of the windy conditions and lots of zone. We thought there were more stoppages than necessary because of some lack of clarity about rules around the disc. Despite that, we didn’t feel like the game was at all negative. We thought your communication was always polite, and in particular you took such care to make safe bids, and not make them if it wasn’t safe. Thank you. |

India Mixed | 2 | 2 | 2 | 2 | 2 | 10 | |
Canada Mixed | 1 | 0 | 1 | 2 | 2 | 6 | A score of 0 for fouls and body contact because of reoccurring dangerous plays taking out our players even after warnings and spirit timeout. Other examples of contact includes lack of body control on the mark and reset defense. Double team was also continuously discussed and not adjusted. |

Chinese Taipei Mixed | 2 | 2 | 2 | 2 | 3 | 11 | Very open to listening and communicating both ways |
Colombia Mixed | 1 | 2 | 2 | 2 | 2 | 9 | Rules - Constantly called the same foul, even though it was already clarified (e.g. legal mark, pivoting into mark) This was consistent even after half time. At times, mentioned “did we get an advantage” even though it wasn’t that issue. E.g. establishing where to start the disc. |
Malaysia Mixed | 2 | 2 | 2 | 2 | 2 | 10 | Generally very well spirited game, nothing out of the ordinary. Thankful for constant check-ins from spirit captains! |
Hong Kong, China Mixed | 2 | 2 | 3 | 2 | 3 | 12 | Very willing to listen to us, and often checked in after points whether the physicality was of an acceptable level. Also very willing to make calls unfavourable to their side, after taking in different perspectives. |
France Mixed | 1 | 2 | 1 | 2 | 1 | 7 | Rules: various instances where rules were used to team’s advantages (e.g; running into defense and saying offense has right of way; checking in of disc)
Fair mindedness: Couple of iffy calls, especially regarding grounded discs. Players on field sometimes unwilling to listen to sideline perspective who are calling something unfavorable to the team. Thank you to the players who do speak up though, we really do appreciate it.
Communication: unwilling to listen to our perspectives at times. |
Australia Mixed | 2 | 2 | 3 | 1 | 3 | 11 | Thank you for the wonderfully intense and spirited game. On fair mindedness and communication we really appreciated how you were willing to listen, discuss, and make the right calls, even if unfavourable to you.
Regarding the positive attitude & self control, we note everyone was generally very positive and we appreciated that. However the few incidents we mentioned made it unacceptable. |
Italy Mixed | 2 | 0 | 1 | 1 | 2 | 6 | Several bad bids that almost injured a couple of our players. A few players who cannot control themselves, and really communicated poorly (eg; rejecting handshakes, snatching disc from players, intentionally pushing off). Often, when calls were made, players’ first instincts were to say “no” or to reject the call. But we recognise not all players are like that, and appreciate the spirited players who try to contribute positively |
India Mixed | 2 | 1 | 2 | 2 | 2 | 9 | Unfortunately there was one dangerous bid that potentially could’ve injured our player. Off the disc contact was also very heavy. There were also some players who were quick to contest calls without listening to our perspective. Apart from that, thank you for two-way communication that allowed for a more spirited game. |
Canada Mixed | 1 | 1 | 0 | 1 | 1 | 4 | 1: felt like they were inconsistent when it was in your favour vs when not (e.g.; establishing legal positions in marking, pivoting through mark). Offsetting fouls & contact calls were also not clearly understood.
2: Often, we felt some players intentionally fouled to stop flow of the game. Body contact did not decrease after feedback
3: you insisted for us to listen to game advisors; but you yourself did not. Players on/off field influenced players to change calls made to be in favour of you. |
Germany Mixed | 2 | 2 | 2 | 2 | 2 | 10 | We would like to particularly appreciate the spirit captains for their communication, and acknowledging where there were any issues/errors. Thank you for a wonderful game!! |
